Shell Beach, Herm

Shell beach,  formerly known as Le Mielle, is located on the far side of Herm. The name of the beach comes from the fact the sand is formed from tiny shell fragments deposited there by the Gulf Stream .

While it is one of the most popular beaches within the Bailiwick it  rarely gets crowded even at hight tide. There are lots of interesting rock pools at low tide or, if you are more adventurous you could hire a kayak or try stand up paddle boarding

• Dog Friendly - dogs are welcome between 1st October and 30th April
• Cafe - hot and cold drinks and snacks as well as toys, beach games and postcards from mid-April until mid-September
